SAM and the Embassy of Finland have organized a high-level seminar entitled "Together for Enhanced and More Stable Europe" as a part of the year-long activities commemorating 90th anniversary of the Turkey-Finland Friendship Agreement on 18 November 2014 in Ankara Palas.

11th President of Turkey H.E. Mr. Abdullah Gül and Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Mr. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu from Turkish side, and 10th President/Nobel Peace Prize laureate H.E. Mr. Martti Ahtisaari and Minister for Foreign Affairs Erkki Tuomioja from Finnish side have honored the event with their presence and speeches.

In the context of the speeches given by the abovementioned high-level speakers, opinions and observations have been delivered on the subjects of preservation and enhancement of European Union's democratic, multicultural and cosmopolitan structure as its primary soft-power asset, EU's possible contributions towards alleviating the situation on the flashpoints in its vicinity such as Middle East and Ukraine, Turkey's policies as a European country to bring its relations with EU to its ultimate destination of full membership, and bilateral relations between Turkey and Finland.

After the seminar, a reception was held at the honour of participants in the main dining hall of Ankara Palas.
