With the contributions of the SAM, the Conference titled “Arab Spring and Turkey: Democracy, Security and Order” was carried out in Ankara on 13th December 2012 by the Yildirim Beyazit University, the Institute of International Relations and Strategic Research (YULİSA).
Officials from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, academicians and experts from several think-tanks participated to the Conference.
At the first part of the conference, the term “Arab Spring” was analyzed, and the long term implications of this development were discussed. Afterwards, the second part of the conference was mainly focused on possible effects of Arab Spring to Turkey and Turkish capacity to influence these movements.
Limited participation to the conference let invitees to exchange their views with their counterparts.
