SAM has attended and supported a conference titled “Central Asia: Politics and International Relations”, hosted by Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University (KTMU) in Bishkek on 5 June 2015, in cooperation with ORASAM (Central Asian Research Center). At the conference, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Bishkek H. E. Metin Kılıç and President of KTMU Prof. Sebahattin Balcı gave welcoming speeches, and SAM Chairman Prof. Ali Resul Usul delivered a speech titled “Changing World Politics and Peace and Order in Central Asia”. The conference was followed by members of think-tanks, official research institutions, media and diplomatic corps in Kyrgyz Republic.
In conference, comprehensive presentations were delivered on topics of developments in Central Asia, namely “People's Republic of China’s Silk Roads (One Belt One Route) Policy”, “Global Powers and their visions on Central Asia”, “Regional Cooperation and Integration Opportunities”, “Water and Border issues in the region”, “NATO’s relations with the countries in the region”, “Customs Union and future of Eurasian Economic Union”, and “Religious freedom and Media in Kyrgyzstan”.
On each presentation, participants shared their ideas and views, and responded to various questions from each other during the Q&A session. At the end of the program, participants were presented a certificate by KTMU.
During their stay in Bishkek, SAM delegation also visited Turkish Embassy and TIKA Bishkek Coordination Office.
