On the occasion of 20th anniversary of Neutrality Status of Independent Turkmenistan, adopted by a UN General Assembly resolution on 12 December 1995, an international conference entitled "Neutrality Policy of Independent Turkmenistan: Theory and Practice Principles" was organized in cooperation with SAM, TİKA and Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on 20 November 2015 in Ashgabat.
SAM delegation included SAM Chairman Prof. Ali Resul Usul, Prof. Ekrem Tatoğlu from Bahçeşehir University, Prof. Hasan Ali Karasar from Atılım University, Assoc. Prof. Yaşar Sarı from Abant İzzet Baysal University, Prof. Mert Bilgin and Assoc. Prof Ahmet Hamdi Topal from İstanbul Medipol University.
At the opening session of the conference, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Turkmenistan H.E. Mustafa Kapucu, SAM Chairman Prof. Ali Resul Usul, TİKA Turkmenistan Program Coordinator Ali Muslu and President of Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Dr. Baba Zahirov addressed the audience.
Presentations and speeches were delivered by SAM delegation on topics of “Neutrality Policy and Turkmenistan in the International Law”, “Foregin Policy and Neutrality Policy of Turkmenistan”, “Regional Foreign Policy of Turkmenistan”, “International Energy Politics and Turkmenistan” and “Economic/Commercial Relations between Turkey-Turkmenistan and Potential Investmen Areas”.
During their stay in Ashgabat, SAM delegation also paid a visit to the Turkish Embassy and TIKA Ashgabat Coordination Office.
