SAM has attended a conferenced entitled "The Countries of the South Caucasus and Central Asia in the Context of the Silk Road Economic Belt" hosted by Azerbaijan SAM in Baku, on 7 May 2015. The conference was joined by members think-tanks, official research institutions, media and diplomatic corps from entire Eurasian countries. Chairman Prof. Ali Resul Usul delivered a speech on the possible outcomes and challenges of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the infrastructure projects undertaken by Turkey.
Two-session conference provided a floor for presenting individual perspectives from each corridor country onto reviving historical Silk Road. Panelists mentioned very projects ranging from telecommunications to transportation, and from legal issues to political motivations which will be pioneers to one comprehensive Silk Road Belt.
Moreover, a joint report "Turkic Council and Cooperation in Eurasia in the Light of Developments across the Region" issued with the collaboration of Turkic Council, SAM and AVİM was introduced at the meeting. You can view the report here.
