SAM and Romanian Diplomatic Institute signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Bucharest on 24 April. Before the signature ceremony, a meeting has been held in Bucharest University. SAM President Prof. Dr. Bülent Aras, Turkey’s Ambassador to Bucharest Mr. Ömür Şölendil and academicians from Romania were present at the meeting. Q&A session followed Prof. Aras’s presentation which provided a fruitful academic discussion.
The President of Centre for Strategic Research Prof. Dr. Bulent Aras and Director General of The Romanian Diplomatic Institute of the Ministry Foreign Affairs of Romania Prof. Dr. Vlad Gheorghe Nistor signed the Memorandum of Understanding, which promotes establishment of practical cooperation between Romania and Turkish authorities in scientific researches. Both parties agree to an active exchange of information, research papers and some other documents.
After the signature, Prof. Dr. Bulent Aras has given a lecture about the “Turkey and European Union Relations”. He touched upon the future of European Union and narrowing vision of European Union following the economic deterioration. Turkey’s Ambassador to Bucharest, Mr. Omur Solendil who also made a speech about the increasing role of Turkey in its region as well as beyond.
