A roundtable meeting was organized by SAM (Center for Strategic Research) and the participants of the National School of Public Policy, Lahore, Pakistan on the topic of “General Principles of Turkish Foreign Policy and Turkish-Pakistani Relations” in Ankara on 20 May 2014.
The meeting was moderated by Chairman of Diplomacy Academy Assoc. Prof. Mesut Özcan with the participation of the 100th National Management Course which was attended by senior civil servants of Pakistan. Assoc. Prof. Ferhat Pirinççi, advisor to SAM, and representatives from relevant departments of Ministry of Foreign Affairs also participated in the meeting.
During the meeting, foreign policy principles of Turkey, Turkey’s policy towards regional integration and relationships with neighboring countries as well as Turkey’s current views on Syrian crisis were evaluated. Furthermore, political, economic and cultural aspects of bilateral relations between Turkey and Pakistan were discussed by participating academicians and members of Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The participants shared their ideas and views and responded to various questions from each other during the Q&A session at the end of every meeting. After the meeting, a lunch was given in honor of Pakistani delegation.
