A roundtable meeting was organized by SAM (Center for Strategic Research) and Brooking Institute from United States on the topic of “Current Situation and Possible Developments in Southern Caucasus” in Ankara.
The meeting was moderated by Chairman of Diplomacy Academy Assoc. Prof. Mesut Özcan with the participation of the Brookings Institute delegation comprised by Prof. Kemal Kirişci, Jeremy Shapiro and Andrew Moffatt.
Assoc. Prof. Ferhat Pirinççi, advisor to SAM, Prof. Kamer Kasım, Dean of Economic and Administrative Sciences Faculty at Abant İzzet Baysal University, and representatives from related departments of Ministry of Foreign Affairs also participated in the meeting.
During the meeting, Turkish approach to the existing problems at Southern Caucasus region, influence of regional and non-regional actors to the ongoing processes, several dynamics affecting Turkish-Armenian relations and Turkey’s position on the eve of 100th anniversary of 1915 events were thoroughly evaluated and discussed.
