As part of “Foreign Policy Meetings” underway since the beginning of 2015, SAM has conducted a brainstorming session on “Increasing Risk of Polarization in Middle East, and Turkey’s Approach” with participation by distinguished representatives from Presidency, Prime Ministry, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Interior, and academic institutions.

The meeting was moderated by SAM Chairman Prof. Ali Resul Usul under Chatham House guidelines. During the meeting, the participants found opportunity to evaluate Turkey’s options and possibilities in the face of the sectarian and ethnic-based polarization further dominating the nature and landscape of conflicts in the Middle East, and passed their opinions and observations to each other.
