A workshop titled "Turkey and Mongolia: Past and Future" was organized by SAM and ISS (Institute for Strategic Studies), which is under the auspices of the National Security Council of Mongolia, in Ankara, on 13 May 2015.
The meeting was moderated by Ümit Alpaslan Kılıç, Head of Department for SAM, with attendance of Turkish and Mongolian academicians as well as participants from the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA).
Within the framework of the meeting, participants found opportunity to evaluate Turkish-Mongolian bilateral relations, Turkey's development assistance to Mongolia and other countries via TİKA, and Mongolia's foreign policy initiatives under the framework of Third Neighbor Policy on the first session. In the second session of the meeting, current developments in Turkey and Mongolia's relations with third parties such as China, Russia, SCO and NATO were discussed around the respective presentations of Turkish and Mongolian experts.
The participants shared their ideas and suggestions, and responded to various questions from each other during the Q&A part at the end of every session.
