In the margin of the SAM delegations visit to Canada, on 8 October two conferences entitled “Turkey and the European Union” and “Turkey and the Arab Spring” were organised at the Munk School of Global Affairs with the support of SAM, the Centre for European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies and the Canada Centre for Global Security Studies.

Prof. Mesut Özcan, Acting Chairman of SAM; Prof. Mensur Akgün, Director of the Global Political Trends Center; Şaban Kardaş, Professor at the International Relations Department at TOBB-ETU and advisor at the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Diplomacy Academy; Dr. Sylvia Tiryaki, Deputy Director of the Global Political Trends Center; Randall Hansen, Director of the Centre for European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies; Jens Hanssen, University of Toronto; Ron Pruessen, Munk School Director for International Partnerships & Research and Robert Clegg Austin, Centre for European, Russian and Eurasian Studies focused on Turkey’s role in the global arena.

The workshop has been concluded with a Q&A sessions were the above-mentioned speakers responded to various questions from the audience.
