Dr. Hüseyin Işıksal

He has been serving as Special Advisor to the President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in the field of International Relations and Diplomacy, Member of the Negotiation Delegation, and Chairman of the International Relations Committee since 2020. He received his undergraduate degree from Eastern Mediterranean University, Department of International Relations, as a high honor student. He completed his master's degree at the University of Warwick in the United States. As a Chevening Scholar of Cyprus, he received his first doctorate from the Department of International Relations at Keele University in England with his thesis titled "Asymmetric Negotiations: Dichotomous International Order and Turkey-EU Relations". He completed his second doctorate at the Department of International Relations at Middle East Technical University. He has been a full-time lecturer at various universities in Turkey, England and TRNC since 2002. He has over fifty publications written in English and Turkish in various peer-reviewed academic journals such as Electoral Studies, Alternatives, Asia Pacific Review and Gazi Academic View. He is also the editor of six books, including Turkey's Relations with the Middle East: Political Encounters After the Arab Spring, published by Springer Nature.
