New dynamics are emerging which are creating a strong imperative for joint action to deal with common challenges in the post-Arab Spring political landscape. Turkey’s active response has once again shifted the balance to the Western component of its foreign policy identity and thus represents a strong complementary position to the EU’s. There is now a chance of refreshing Turkish-EU relations in the face of shared challenges arising from the Arab Spring.
