Volume XVIII Winter 2013
The recent volumes of Perceptions have embarked on a strategic approach by regularly publishing special issues focusing on specific themes, following a trend in the academic publishing community, which aims to cluster relevant articles under shared umbrellas. Previous special issues have covered diverse subjects, from regional focuses to methodological perspectives, all assembled by highly capable guest editors. In this volume, consisting of fourteen articles, we explore various aspects of international relations, political economy, and conflict resolution. The articles are divided into two clusters, emphasizing either methodological approaches or regional and strategic focuses. The methodological cluster explores international political economy (IPE), emphasizing the significance of economic factors in shaping global politics and foreign policy. The strategic and regional cluster delves into topics such as conflicts in the Middle East and diplomatic efforts in the Arab world, providing critical insights into contemporary geopolitical dynamics. This volume aims to stimulate further interest and engagement in political economy and international relations, offering thought-provoking analyses for both academic and policy-making communities. We extend our gratitude to all authors, reviewers, and contributors who made this volume possible, ensuring the highest standards of scholarly integrity and intellectual rigor.
