This volume of the Perceptions consists of eight articles. First article written by Şebnem Köşer Akçapar provide in-depth analysis to phenomenon of international migration in terms of its oppurtunities and challanges for diplomacy and international relations. Secondly, Franck Düvell explores the challanges that are encountered by EU in the field of diplomacy due to migration. Subsequently, Başak Kale delves into limits of international burden-sharing in migration by taking the Syria as a case study and demonstrates the impacts of Syrian refugee flow on Turkish policy-making. O. Can Ünver demonstrates the limits and necessity of global migration governance by referencing process of Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration as a way to embrace right-based approach to migration governance.

Yelda Devlet Karapınar aim to reveal the interralation between immigration policy and Turkish foreign policy by demonstrating the changing patterns of relations between Türkiye and EU. Afterwards, Şebnem Köşer Akçapar and Damla Bayraktar attract attention the evolving focus of Turkish policy towards Turkish diaspora as a public diplomacy tool. Doğuş Şimşek explores the change of rhetoric of EU towards Turkiye’s status as a “safe third country” in terms of Syrian regufees, so analyzes the situation in İstanbul, İzmir and Gaziantep by conducting fieldwork. The last article of the journal belongs to Meltem İnce Yenilmez and it discovers the impact of forced migration in the Middle East from the eyes of Syrian and Palestinian refugees.
